The site is located on the former Gasworks, located between Gould Street, Bilbrook Street and Bromley Street, to the north east of Manchester City Centre. It is approximately 2.7 hectares in area and is currently used for surface car parking, plus gas and telecommunications infrastructure.
The site was historically occupied by the Gould Street Gas Works and a scheme of remediation works has previously been undertaken to remove sources of land contamination. Further remediation works are necessary and will be funded by the developers as part of these proposals.
The site is located within 650m of Manchester Victoria railway station and within walking distance of the city centre.
It is one of the flagship schemes within the North Gateway Strategic Regeneration Framework and has been identified to be redeveloped for major residential-led development.
